Need critter identification

Looks like the fellow that came down my chimney a couple of summers ago. Couldn’t get back out. Knew they where around here but never seen one up close before. He got out of the stove and had to catch him by throwing a coat over him. Showed him to a friend a few minutes later than released him outside. Big eyes, flat tail and extra skin between its legs along its belly.
yes , flying squirrel. Never knew we had them in Eastern Ontario/Southern Quebec until I saw a pair of young ones walk down the cottage stairs from upstairs. Very cute and almost entirely nocturnal. That's why most people have never seen one here.
