Need everyone's thoughts about BSA 30-06!

Have a possible trade for a Birmingham arms 30-06. He wants 300 but I talked him down to 230, and now I might just trade him some stuff I don't need. Was wondering what everyone's thoughts are about the BSA 30-06. Pros? Cons?

Which particular BSA .30-06? A sported M1917? A sporting rifle?

He says its been sportarized, not sure what that means.

If it is a sporterized Pattern 14 Enfield(or M1917 Enfield) it is a good deal. If it is a BSA (Majestic or Regent) it is a super deal. I recently bought a BSA sporter and the quality is comparable to the best factory built sporters built ANYWHERE. i would grab it fast personally.

My first hunting rifle was a BSA Monarch in 30 06 my son still has it, good rifle.
