Need Grip recommendation

I want to get a new set of grips for my Colt Gov't .45 . I have a fairly large set of paws and the regular set of grips seems to just get lost and I have a bit of trouble getting a consistant repeatable hand position . So I thought I would check with the collective wisdom of the board.

I bought a set of Pachmayr grips. The one with the wood side panels and wrap around rubber. They were close, but not good enough. So I cut two pieces of 1/8" stainless plate and fitted them behind the grips. Viola, I now have a single stack that feels like a double in my hand.
