Anyone have any safe recipes for the 44 Magnum. Factory loads will not cycle properly in my Ruger semi. The gun has been cleaned and serviced by a gunsmith to no avail. I'm told it's because factory shells are loaded to handgun specs. Just bought RCBS dies and plan to start loading. Any advice on loads would be greatly appreciated. I'm shooting 240 gr. bullets.

My Ruger semi what? The Carbine? In any case, if you're not reloading you'll have to try a box of as many brands as you can to find the ammo your rifle will both shoot well and cycle the action. The cost of said ammo means nothing. However, .44 Mag handgun ammo comes in 50 round boxes. Rifle ammo comes in 20 round boxes. At least, Remington ammo does. Rifle ammo is a bit hotter.
"...plan to start loading..." Good for you. Be sure to use rifle data out of your manual. IMR4227 data for a 240 starts at 22.0 for a rifle. 20.0 for a revolver. Rifling twist is different in a rifle vs a revolver too. One in 38" in most rifles. One in 20" in most revolvers.
