Need help: broken floor plate spring BSA rifle

I have a BSA CF2 in 30-06. Yesterday I'm getting my stuff ready to hit the range as I got this rifle 2weeks ago. I removed the bolt, open the floor plate to see the spring (well not really a spring) in 2 peices...where the metal
Is bent to creat a "Z" shape. I'll try to post pictures but not too sure how. Any one knows how to fix this?? Or where to get replacement parts?? 2 shop in my region said that I was out of luck.....I never got a chance to even fired the rifle.

Google John Knibbs International, it'll come up airgunspares.com, and look through the list on the left of their page until you click on "rifle spares". They have parts for the CF2. Not cheap generally but a magazine spring is fifteen pounds sterling, plus shipping. I think it will be exempt VAT (Value Added Tax) because it will be for export, but the rules may have changed since I left in 1999.
 
PM me with email address. I had one & a floor plate laying around for years. I will have to look thru a pile of stuff or I may have put it in a box with a lot of Misc stuff at the last show. If I can find it you can have it

Thanks for the replies. When to see another gunsmith and he said the same as gunrunner100, if we can't find one, we'll make one fit.

"...not really a spring..." That'd be a flat spring. Magazines typically use 'em. Your rifle is based on a Mauser. Shouldn't be hard to find a mag spring. Making one will cost a pile of money. Try Gunparts(Stateside) or Western Gunparts first.
 
Got a reply from Western gun parts saying that they are obsolete. The suggested to go see Gunco in Ottawa and he won't have any problemes retrofitting a generic spring. So thats my next step next week. Thanks for the help.
 
Wow...in and out of Gunco within 10 minutes with a brand new flat spring for 28$. Took Jason 2 minutes to make it fit and now works perfectly. Can't wait to hit the range.
