Hi, I am new to reloading , I read a lot about the subject , I am ready to buy tool that I need to reload. I found kit from lee, rcbs, hornady and lyman. Most of review tell that you end to replace most of the kit component after some time . I want to reload rifle ammunition for hunting and target shooting, I want to start with a single stage press . I want to be able to reload short magnum caliber.

I want help of experienced user to help me build a good kit with every tools that need.

Thank Christ !

Based on what you said, I would opt for the RCBS kits. Pretty much all quality parts inside that kit.

What I would love is a mixed kit, a Lee classic cast press with rcbs powder dispenser and powder measure.

I bought the Lee 50th anniversary kit when I started. I load for my bolt guns so still use the single stage. I have added on lots but still use the scale, press and powder thrower. If you end up loading for semi or pistol you will more than likely buy a progressive later on. It all depends on volume. Rcbs, Lee or Dillon make great presses just buy the most complete kit you can afford. Asking which brand to buy is like asking who makes a better pick-up truck, it could go on forever.

RCBS Rock Chucker Supreme Master reload kit

Kit includes: Rock Chucker Supreme Press, 5-0-5 Powder Scale, Uniflow Powder Measure, Speer No. 14 Reloading Manual, Hand-Priming Tool, Hex-Key Set, Universal Case Loading Block, Case-Lube Kit, Powder Funnel and Deburring Tool. I can't see why you would need to up grade any of the components of this kit. You may want to add things like, a good case trimmer, calipers, and a case tumbler.

if I buy a RCBS Supreme Master Reloading KIT , the kit include

• Rock Chucker Supreme Press
• Model 5-0-5 Reloading Scale
• Uniflow™ Powder Measure
• Hand Priming Tool
• Universal Case Load Block
• .17-.60 Debur Tool
• Hex Key Set
• Case Lube Kit
• Powder Funnel
• Speer® Reloading Manual

excluding die and shellholder, It there is other tool i will need to start doing rifle reloading ?

Needing to replace most of the kit components after some time isn't true. Been using the same tools for 40 years myself. You may want to add some stuff, but not because the old stuff wore out. Used kit is ok.
Partial to RCBS kit as well. More expensive, but you're paying for the 'no questions asked, we don't care who broke it or bought it new' warrantee.
The beginner's kit gives you everything you need less dies and shell holder. Buy a Lyman manual too. The kit comes with a good manual, but it's a Nosler or Speer book. Those only have data for their bullets(you load for the bullet weight, not who made it. Except for solid copper bullets.) and not as many powders as the Lyman. Read the reference chapters in any manual you buy too. Good read and lots of interesting info(not that you'll ever use most of it. Good read just the same.)
You'll need a solid work bench too. No particle board tops. They break. Doesn't have to be the size of an aircraft carrier either.

I bought the RCBS Supreme Master kit acouple years ago and also picked up along the way

Dies for your caliber
RCBS powder trickler
Forster case trimmer
Princess Auto dial caliper
and a primer pocket reamer

That should pretty much get your rockin for reloading

Like others have said, Buy the RCBS kit. The only other things you need are calipers, a case trimmer, shell holders and die's.

Also buy a couple of reloading manuals and read them.

I build a custom kit from cabelas.ca

what you think about my custom kit ?
it is better priming off the press or on the press ?

Lee Classic Cast Press
RCBS Powder Measure
Cabela's Bullet Puller
Cabela's Electronic Caliper
Frankford Arsenal Universal Reloading Tray
Lee Auto Prime XR w/ Large & Small Trays
Lee Universal Shell Holder Set For Presses
Frankford Arsenal Quick-N-EZ Tumbler Kit
RCBS Powder Funnel
Frankford Arsenal DS-750 Digital Reloading Scale
Lyman Universal Case Trimmer
Estimated Order Total $703.84

The Manual's "ABC of reloading" including a couple of good manuals are vital.. I'd look for the best you can afford for all the items you need.

I bought the Rcbs rock chucker kit ,Lyman 49th edition and Richard Lee modern reloading manuals, mastercraft digital caliber, cabelas bullet puller 5 sets of Lee dies and related components. Will add a Rcbs chargemaster this year and I don't see upgrading anything as a necessity.

Christg you can buy what you want but the concensus is to buy the rock chucker kit, some books, dies and something for cleaning. I fail to see the need of buying everything without trying the basics and seeing what you will need after you build a few bullets. I still don't use an electronic scale, I have never had an issue with a beam scale. If $700 is total within your budget to start, go ahead. As for priming I find it easier to hand prime but suggest trying the press before you buy a hand primer. Good luck and get loading soon

I have the Lee Classic Cast non breechlock. There is a ton of RCBS fans as well as Lee fans or Dillon fans etc. if you need budget you can go the piecemeal route but the rockchucker kit does contain most of what you need. I started with a Lee turret press non cast kit. I used an electronic scale but went back to beam for accuracy. There is no need to get fancy. Try a single stage and get the basics down first as it is much easier to do this then switch to a turret later if your production demands are as such (shooting tons of rounds for ipsc or service rifle etc).

Lol, i have not buy anything
first i have every manual ! Hornady, Lee ABC, Lymann, speer ... so i dont need to pay for manual.
i understand that rcbs kit is a good way to start.

But some told me that Lee classis press have longer stroke and are more versatile than RCBS kit press ?

some told me that the hand priming tool with rcbs kit not so good and advised me that a priming system on the press is the way to go.. ?

also a experienced reloader told me tat that never use volume based Powder Measure tool ??
is that include with the rcbs kit ?

You are going to get lots of contradicting advice and no one is right or wrong. You need to make the choice yourself. Lee presses work and so do RCBS. You really can't make a wrong choice in buying a single stage. Making your own kit is fine just more expensive, everyone is just making sure you don't spend extra cash. Buy the press you like, I prefer the Lee and love the quick change bushings. I like the RCBS dies and the Lee hand primer. People either get used to a certain brand or buy what is available. Lee, Dillon, RCBS & Lyman all make good products so anything you buy will last for a long time. We all bought kits cause it got us started easier. Depending on the powder you use with dictate what powder measure you use, extruded isn't the most accurate out of some devices. Your kit you described sounds fine just looking out for your wallet

Apologies to the OP if this is OT a bit, but I have been using the Lee Starter kit.
I'm "getting to know" the balance beam and am now wondering about upgrading to something better.
Not interested in anything electronic at the moment but can I get some recommendations on a better scale?
Is the 505 any better or different?
