I purchased the BCM complete lower (mod 0).

I’m now looking for an upper.

The ones I have my eyes on in no particular order are

1) BCM m4
2) Aero M4E1
3) TNA upper
4) DD m4

What do you guys run?

Just get the bcm, you may as well have a matching rifle. May I also recommend a geissele reaction rod for doing the barrel and muzzle device installation. They are awesome. And don't forget to headspace.

Yeah that’s what I was thinking. I’ve looked into head spacing and it doesn’t seem that there is anyway to properly headspace (make adjustments) that’s done by the factory of the barrel? I could be wrong. I know I need to ensure headspace is safe with a go-no go gauge.

Function wise completely irrelevant except maybe TNA. Skip the TNA it doesn't belong with that company. Aero will be the best value, for sake of ocd go bcm and get matching.

If cost is that important then get the Aero with no forward assist for $100 from Saskatoon Gunworks: https://www.saskatoongunworks.com/ar15-stripped-upper-no-forward-assist-aero-precisi.html. There's also the Aero M4E1 for $140 if you really need the FA: https://www.saskatoongunworks.com/m4e1-threaded-assembled-upper-receiver-gen-2-aero.html.

The $99 upper from TNA will still need a forward assist and dust cover so you'll end up spending more than $140 anyways. With the Aero you know you're getting a quality part.

Hmm never though of not having forward assist. I know as civilians we would probably never use it.

Comes down entirely to personal preference, I can't recall ever using it on one of my rifles but I still bought a forward assist upper for my modern sporter. I'll probably never use it but I like the looks of it, lol.

Vltor upper is also a good option, thicker walls, and always find their bbl extension straight and tight.
