So I am planning to shoot IDPA this summer, what holster is good? Also whats the difference in regards to comfort of a belt style or paddle style? totally new to holsters!

I made the mistake of getting a Fobus 'cuz it was cheap. I didn't like it at all...ended up bying a Bladetech and it is way better IMHO. I like the belt holster better than the paddle.

I was just looking at the fobus on ebay, my biggest problem is trying to find one that will ship to canada. My local gun shop says they are very rare and hard to find, personally I think thats BS....

I found the Fobus held the pistol EXTREMELY tight. I had a hard time drawing smoothly out of it even after I 'modified' it to make it a little easier. I don't know how rare the Fobus are but I have seen them around. Bladetech shipped directly to me from the US.

I got the Sting Ray Belt holster, its IDPA approved. It was suggested to me by a member of the ATHL before I attended one of their skills clinics. I'm sure some of the more experienced IDPA 'nutz will likely have some suggestions too.

I believe Blade Tec still have their Bobby McGee special on sale. You may have to order on-line. You get the holster with a double mag holder. The Stingray is an excellent holster as well. Well made and works.

Take Care

Bob

Go with the Blade Tech. Fobus can be real pieces of crap.
