i recently bought what i thought was a vz24 mauser it has czech lion on the reciever but the wood is different

along the reciever it says czech but there is no vz24 on it anywhere

so now im not sure what it is other than a mauser.
the top pics is what i have but sportered bottom is what i thought i had

the one i have is an israeli converted 7.62 nato. any help would be appreciated, im going to replace the sportered stock with original type stock and hand gaurd

hmmm if i had to guess i would say k98 barrel on czech reciever but what do i know i'll put pics up tomorrow

I own that same rifle. It is a K98 Mauser. It was made at the Brno plant after it was seized from Germany by the Czech's. They were then imported by the Isreali's and converted to 7.62 during the Isreali war of independance.
Basically, It is a German K98, Czech manufactured and stamped, Isreali converted. It is definitly not a VZ-24. Mine is lion stamped AND still has Nazi markings. Usually they are ground off
