Need help decided on red dot

Got $250 gift card for cabelas for the holidays and looking to spend on a red dot sight

Never purchased one before and wanted to see what people thought would be the best buy for under 300.

I'd go with whatever vortex red dot appeals to you. They make good stuff and have a good unconditional warranty. I have a bushnell trs 25 on a cheap .22 rifle and it gets me where I need to go but for an AR go vortex

Vortex is probably better however i have used a bushnell trs25 on both a 12ga and an ar and it held up just fine. It has a 2moa dot with ks crisp. There is a little colour distortion due to the coated lenses but it isnt bad by any means. Both companies have great warranties and customer service (ive used both). I say go handle them in the store and see which feels nicer in your opinion

That's a good choice, just don't get the original SPARC as they take an oddball battery and are hard to find.

Another vote for the SPARC 2 in that price range. If they have the Holosun there, take a look also.
In the $300 range, these would be the only two I would consider.

Oddball battery doesn't matter. Just use an easy to find 2032 and a nickel

Yes, I just found this out on a Utube video. They used a dime. Lighter weight....... lol

Yep I'm on 80+ hrs on the nickel mod. It was a downside for sure but this fix seems alright. Since you can load up at the dollar store
