Need help finding a lever action 22 for the wife

I'm new to long guns but with the help of some here at CGN just bought a pre 64 30-30 Win94 and love it. A bit too much recoil for the wife but she likes the lever action. So I thought I'd check for something in rimfire. Have looked at the Henry Golden Boy and of course considering the 9422. Would be used strictly for plinking.

Suggestions and input appreciated.

3030 isn't that bad for recoil...but
9422 would be my first choice, then maybe a Henry.
If she's a petite girl, could look at Mossberg 464 Lever Action Rifle
It's pretty small, with an 18" barrel.

HuskyDude: the 9422 would be a nice compliment to my 30-30. She’s not petite thoughts on xtr and M?
 
Not familiar with a XTR. But if you got a line on one snag er quick!
I have a 9422, in great shape...worth every penny paid.
Also have a Browning BL-22 very fine lever too.
Might have troubles finding someone willing to part with them...
 
Just another option if recoil is too much for her, you could always look into getting her a 357 lever and just load 38 special through it.

Yeah, that certainly works for her with the 357 wheel gun I picked up recently. Truth is I haven’t shot rim fire in years so it would be kinda cool to pick up another LA in 22.

Any experience with the Uberti Silverboy?
 
Have the wife handle the Levers if possible. Cheek-weld differs amongst the brands.
I found the Golden Boy had a chin-weld and nose heavy due to the long octagonal bbl. Got a little heavy too after blasting a couple hundred rounds unsupported.
The Browning Bl-22 is quality but I hated the high cheek-weld. The short stroke one-piece lever/trigger set up was quick but the trigger it self was stiff (but broke crisp).

Never owned/shot a 9422 but I understand they are the cat's meow.

I currently have a Henry Carbine large loop and it's a keeper.....inexpensive (<$400), smooth as silk, light & handy and decent sights.
 
I have a Ithaca .22 saddle gun lever action that I bought back in 1974 and it's still my favourite blinker and back in the day it thinned out a lot of groundhogs. Nice accurate and light weight
 
Bought a BL22 Grade 1 today boyz and girlz.

For the redhead, of course.

Now to scope or not to scope. ;-)
