My head is swimming looking through websites and catalogs looking for something specific for my wife....here are the parameters

1. 7mm-08
2. bolt action
3. something "pretty" which means, laminate or synthetic, no wood
4. Stainless preffered
5. under $1000
6. now here's the kicker......left handed

so who out there makes this configuration of rifle cause i keep finding rifles with 5 out of 6 of the criteria but not all 6

Any thoughts?

Chris

probably wont be able to get one for under $1000, but close

why not a remington 700? they have a wide variety available (check your local le barons hunting catalogue.

They fit all, not sure about 7mm but the rest for sure!

I dunno if I'd call it 'pretty' though - Savages have the most 'ow-ow-it-hurts-my-eyes-make-it-stop' ugly synthetic stocks out there.

"Savages have the most 'ow-ow-it-hurts-my-eyes-make-it-stop' ugly synthetic stocks out there." Sure I suppose if thats all your into considering the rifle sits behind the big steel door say about 50 weeks of the year!!

A-Bolt, sans manure spreader. Not necessary, loud and fugly. But the A_Bolt would be a great way to go.

Ruger would be my 2nd choice.

I'm not a 7mm-08 fan, but there's no reason not to go with it. I'd be more inclined to get her a 7x57, despite that they're essentially birds of a feather. It's the only non super-magnum 7mm that I can get worked up about.

I did indeed end up choosing a CDL for her.....once she saw the options out there in left handed she decided that practicality and my preferance were more important than it being "pretty". She has handled and likes my model 700and I have tons of reloading components so we decided to go that way as well. Funny how far around you can go to get back to what was the logical choice in the first place! Thanks for the help though!

Good choice none the less. It is ideally up to her and her preferance, she has to shoot it and be comfortable with it. Congrats on the new weapon.
