I' m looking to buy a 1892 winchester in 44 wcf , This gun dates to 1915 manufacture and has a 20 inch barrel. every part seem to be original and the barrel and mag tube retain 70% original bluing and the frame has a well aged look. The wood still has about 25% original varnish and has 2 small cracks and it has a excellent bore with good rifling and mirror finish.

can you help me to find approx values ??

thanks

Pictures are really necessary but I would say in the condition you describe $1000 plus. I really wouldn't be more specific without photos but 92 saddle ring carbines seem to command high prices and are much rarer to find in good condition than 92 rifles. Are sights original? Is it a standard carbine? Does it have a saddle ring? Or has it been removed?
If you can't post good photos for CGNers to look at and critique, have the gun looked over by a knowledgeable Winchester guy. It could save you from getting burned.

What about the printing on the barrel, is it sharp or does it look a little buffed. Photos are pretty well essential, as the value range can be quite large. When you look at the areas on the receiver immediately surrounding the screws, is it concave, or does the flat sides of the receiver go right up to the screws?

thanks for the answers
i will give you more info, the ring is missing and on rear sight there is a small srew that's missing (on the right corner) but every part seems to be original. the printing are sharp. and for the flat sides of the receiver he don't go right up the screws.

i will try to put pictures today or tommorow

From the pics it looks like pretty much a gray gun with linden or gumwood stocks(a lot of 92 and 94 carbines came so equipped around WW1, shortage of walnut). Stocks look sanded to me but bore seems good. Only one picture of mag and it looks real dark, maybe just the light. Personally I wouldn't throw more than $700 for the gun but others may feel different.
