- In lalaland, that is Ottawa.
I have a serious problem , I've reloaded every thing from .222 up
through, .243, 257 R, .308, 7mm Mag, ,30-06, .303 BR, .30-30 up to .338
and have shell holders, having started with a Pacific C press and then a
RCBS.

I have an old Pacific C press, and the above listed shell holders which
fit the ram head no problem. About 1992, I bought a RCBS Press
with the 0.995" diameter ram. When I bought the latter press, the RCBS,
I also received some type of adopter to take my older non RCBS shell
holders. I am unsure if this was a RCBS part or not. It could have been
made by another company to solve my problem of using the older style
shell holders common to Pacific and other press manufacturers.

This image aboves shows an older SH sitting on top of the RCBS ram.

The above is a close up.

The above diagram is from a RCBS brochure and clearly shows the adaptor that I am missing.
In Moving my stuff from on location to another, I somehow, lost this piece.
So, I have an old Pacific C press, shell holders for it which can not be
used in the much bigger, stronger press. The RCBS press just takes up
bench space. I used it successfully for some 12 years for the heavy work
and used the old Pacific for re priming as I had a better feel on the
up-stroke.
I've tried top no avail to find the solution to my problem, I spent 6
months waiting for your agent here in Ottawa to finally tell me no, he
could not locate the part. The Canadian Distributor, Eastern Ontario
Sales Inc. could not help and I send two very detailed emails to rcbs tech with all of the requisite images shown above. The first reply gave me incorrect information, saying that
"You need part number 9109, Shell Holder Ram. It sells for $25.95. Let
us know if you wish to order. Have a great day! Thank you, Technical Services/ap"
The above response gave me cause to phone the Tech service , when I
explained the problem, then sent another detailed email. In response, I
received a diagram showing the various parts available, giving me no
solution.

My problem remains. When I bought the press I also bought the
piece that snaps into the RCBS ram head and accepts the smaller diameter
shell holders. It is possible that this piece was made by another
company to solve the problem. But who?
I've spent two years trying to solve this problem.
This forum is my last resort.
Surely I am not the only reloader with an older C style press using the Pacific style shell holders who had used the same shell holders in a RCBS.
Somebody out there must have an answer - Please
