I was given this 22 semi by my uncle a while back, it is in rough shape but fires and needs a clip and bolt knob. All that is on the rifle besides the ser# is "Kol.022lr" It has a gold color trigger guard and is quite light.

It sure looks like a Russian rifle with German influense. Post you pics. on rimfirecentral.com under the Russian forum heading, the guys there are very knowledgable and helpful to anyone looking for parts or to identify guns, just don't ask for what its worth, they hate that. The calibre identification is Russian. Hope this helps Dale in T-Bay

Do you have a photo of the markings on it? Is it a semi-auto?
If the gun was Russian, then the designation of the calibre would be either in Cyrillic (which "KOL" is not) or English (which is used by most of the world. Most major European languages spell it either with a "CA" or "KA". I could not find "KO".

looks German to me...although i cant be sure without actually holding the rifle.
is the marking worn out? check closer to make sure it should say Kal.022lr

You know I think it is an A now, I looked through a magnifying glass and you know how you write a small "a" in a word and you have the line come down the back side, well it has a small straight line going down and up that is very faintly seem. So it says exactly what you wrote "kal.022lr" Also I forgot to mention there is a "KC" stamped before the serial number. So do you know the make and model now?

Get good closeup shots of the stampings in the receiver & barrel. Take the stock off and look for more. Anything on the butt plate?

Ross has one of these that he refinished....he didn't know much about this mystery gun either...same markings as yours....i'm clueless myself....
