Vetterlis are fun. Some guys find spare Bolt-shanks for them and make up a centrefire conversion unit from that, with a short firing-pin in the centre of the new Bolt-shank.
THEN you get to make up ammo and shoot it for under $10 a shot and the stuff WORKS.
They were an extremely-accurate rifle for their period, as was just about anything Swiss. Lot of them sold off here very cheaply and at one time it seems every farm had one. God knows where they are now.
Remington made ammunition until 1941, but that is the last that I know of.
Beautiful workmanship and a design that was WAY ahead of its time.
Brass can be made from .348 Winchester or possibly from 8mm Lebel.
