My grandfather had an air rifle years ago, but nobody can remember the make or model for some reason. It was a nice gun, and I'd like to get one back.
All I have to go on, is it looked very much like a Crosman Quest 1000 --->

But the fore end of the stock was cut back sharply almost straight up towards the barrel instead of rounded as the 1000 model is. It also had a thin, hard plastic cover surrounding the entire barrel which i've never seen before.
Fairly heavy air rifle, had good quality sights, and I remember it had some power to it. Above 500 fps likely, if not then close to it.

Any leads are greatly appreciated!

I have an old (late 1950's, early 1960's?) Chinese made air rifle in .177 pellet. It is branded Shanghai China model 61 (PEL61). Mine doesn't have sling attachments, but you get the idea on the look.

They still sell them, but now they are called the B3. And look like this. My local gun shop has them on sale for around $40. Princess Auto also sells them.

Hope that helps. If it's not the same rifle, give us some more details and maybe we can track it down. I always like a treasure hunt :)

That's not it either, sorry lol.
I found out the plastic barrel shroud is actually a polymer coated barrel, it wasn't a cheaper model rifle that's for sure. Break barrel .177, had a safety, cheek rest and rubber butt plate.
