I really need some help identifying this rifle, it appears to be some sort of Enfield sporterized by Parker Hale. I know nothing about Enfields and have scoured the internet trying to identify it. It says Parker hale on the front sight, and has a crown with "BNP" on it in several places. As you can see it didn't come with a magazine.

It should have, unless scrubbed markings on the left hand side of the action. The trigger in a Mk1 would be hung from the trigger gd and in the Mk2 from the action. the Mk1/2 I think is a converted one where the trigger was hung afterwards from the body in a Mk1 body.

It's a Sporterized No 4 rifle, Whether it is a sporter lee enfield or a Parker hale Supreme, hard to say from the pictures.

i) Take some smaller picts, show the left and right side of the front sight.

ii) Is there and markings on the top of the barrel, Like Surrey, of Parker hale?

iii) Is there a PH stamped on the right side of the receiver, towards the back on the butt socket, under where the handle would cover over when closed?

iv)It could be a No4Mk1 or a No 4Mk2, The sporter stocks where made to be versatile enough to accommodate both. I have one of each. You will need to remove the trigger guard to tell. But it should be registered, what is it registered as? (not the the CFC is correct, because they are not accurate).

It looks like your cocking piece is broken...?

ii) There are no markings on the top of the barrel, but the left side of the front sight says "Parker Hale England".

iii) Yes there is a PH

iv) I'm not sure if it is registered, it was transferred to me after someone died, and it appears it needs to be registered in addition to being transferred. This is currently in progress with the CFC.

Yeah there is something wrong with the bolt, I don't know enough about Enfields to know exactly what's wrong, but rest assured I won't be attempting to fire it until it's gone over thoroughly by a gunsmith.

The bottom of the projection on the cocking piece is broken off.

Another cocking piece isn't very expensive or hard to find.

How's the bore? If it's shiny and bright, and not blocked or something, the rifle is probably completely shootable.
