Need help identifying this mauser

Nice little carbine! How's it shoot?

Better than I do I think. I'm not a terribly good shot to begin with, and aligning the tiny notch in the rear sight with the spike on the front sight is super hard on my eyes. That's kind of why I want to mount a scope.

The longest range in my area to which I have access is only 100m. At that distance I manage 2.5'' groups with Sellier and Bellot ammos (groups are always high cause the iron sight is zeroed at 300m). But as I said, the carbine can probably do better than its owner :(

I have one of these carbines. Very course sight with very short sight radius. I can do 6" @ 100 meters at best. Fun to shoot.

Yep! So that style was replaced in 1895, which narrows the age of your rifle a wee bit at least. Nice little carbine though, can't beat the oldies.
