I'm in the process of trying to buy a 20ga shotgun for the lovely missus, but I'm having a little problem IDing it. Perhaps someone here could help.

The gun in question is a next-to-new 20ga Remington 870 Wingmaster. It's in great shape, and is most definitely a smaller model. I suspect it's a "Jr." model, but it's not stamped as such on the receiver. It's got an 18"(approx) barrel with ivory sights, and the barrel looks factory. The POL also seems shorter than normal. I don't have any pics to share, but perhaps the above info is good enough for ID purposes.

If it is indeed a Wingmaster Jr. model, does anybody know what they retail for? I'm having a hard time tracking that info down.........

In the 1980's Remington made two Wingmasters in 20 gauge with shorter stocks and barrels although not 18" but 23" and 21". They came with fixed chokes and have been out of production for years.

Check his link and look at 1981 and 1984.

I'd think the value would be no more than any other Remington 870 with fixed chokes. Somewhere in the $400-$450 range in excellent condition.
