has anyone shortened a browning a-bolt composite stock before, was thinking of buying a A-bolt composite for my daughter who is very tiny and wasnt sure how much or if i could shorten the stock on it, never had the butt pad off a comp stalker, dont know how much meat is in there to shorten and re-attach buttpad, any ideas/info would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance!

I've done 2 in the past with no difficulty. Postion the stock on a chop saw with wedges and remove excess. Epoxy a hardwood dam inside the stock. Add a grind-to-fit limbsaver pad (your daughter will appreciate the reduced recoil). A smith can shape the pad for a minimal charge if you are not comfortable with that job. Its also a convenient time to fill the stock with foam wedges etc. to eliminate the "hollow hello".
