I'm not sure If I should be posting here or in the rimfire section, but the more help the better....

So I bought a new Savage 64 FFR. It came with no iron sights but was fitted with bases from the factory. I went and bought a Tasco rimfire scope to mount on it, however the scope rings that came with it do not fit with the bases. Being fairly new to firearms I'm not sure exactly what kind of bases they are and/or what rings I will need to rectify the problem. Any help would be greatly appreciated!!!!

The Tasco came with dovetail rings that fit a lot of .22 rifles with dovetails cut into the receiver.
You want "Weaver" style rings.
Similar, but a lot wider.

If you bought the rifle on-line, check to be sure. If you got it in Sudbury, the shop should confirm for you.

That would make sense. The basses on the rifle are wider than the ring mount, they have a groove cut out left to right and they are tapped and bolted on. The bottom of the rings do look like theyd be for something much narrower possibly the receiver being grooved for such. From everything I've read and looked at I'm thinking I need 1" Weaver style low rings. The scope is a Tasco rimfire 3x9x32. I did buy it at a retailer here in town. I'm going to unscrew one of the bases and take it with me and go check a couple places here.

Thanks for the input!
