Need Help! Need a 41 RF Bullet mold? (PICS OF GUN ADDED)

I recently bought a Remington DB Derringer its a Antique one with the Two line Barrel top Address.
(theres lots of the single one line Address ones about. BUT ya cant Prove when there Made alot were made After 1898 and they use a 3 Diget lot Number not a SER # so CFC wont letter any but the Two line address ones tho they cant Prove there not Antique either)

Anyway mines a Two line address one 1st model late production made between 1865 and 1888 with so many About and Millions in the USA who has or makes the Propper 41 caliber HB Heeled Bullet molds for theses derringers.
I have 6 Dixie Cases to use 22 Acorn caps but need or would like to get the propper bullet.
I dont think it just uses 41 Long colt bullets either. its a Lighter bullet.

Id prefer to just buy the Bullets a;lready cast if someone has some or knows where to get them as im lazy as a pet Coon
I will go curl back up now and wait for a repy or two!

I think your easiest route would be to buy a .41 round ball mold from Jeff Tanner and just press them in the case mouth. Check your bore diameter first to make sure it is actually .410

Just google Jeff Tanner; he actually is in England but seems to have someone in the US making his molds for the North American market. Speculation is that they are made on a computer driven lathe setup so that the maker simply types in the diameter and pushes a button.

I checked the MT Chambers cast bullet list and Ben has a 200 grain "heeled" bullet which is .410". Could that buller be used? You may want to check with Ben to see what else he might have. You will see him posting here as BenHunchak.

Dingus...you are correct about the weight.

The 41LC was usually around 200 grains but it varied with the maker.

The 41 short rimfire was a 135 grains slug...

same diameter though. In fact, I believe that some of the 41 short colt rounds used the same bullet as the 41 rimfires.

I have a 196 grain 41 lc mold with a long heel that ive often though of trimming down to lower the wieght but...never the time... ive actually cut down some brass to 41 short length and loaded them with the bullet...works well for my experimenting but I dont know if the remingtons would handle the extra pressure of the heavier bullet...

Well I Got a email from Jeff Tanner this morning for $36 USA funds shipped im getting the .410 Round ball mold.

The Round balls in 50 Caliber work great in my 50 70 Remy rolling block pistol so a .410 Rd ball should push into them Brass Dixie Cases OK just cast the Balls soft.
with such Short barrels and hardly any Rifleing twist i figger theres not a big Advantage to useing a bullet rather than a Rd Ball.

Once pressed into the brass dixie case the Rd ball will become a heeled bullet.

My Freind has about 3 other antique guns that can use this Rd ball size as well so thanks Mooncoon for that info about Jeff.

Theses Derringers are just very Cool i can see why Remington made them from 1865 to what was it the 1930s....
