So bought a new norc m4 10.5 inch and took it to the range today, about every 4th shot(with stock 5 rounder and 10 rounder lar mag)it fails to pull the empty out and attempts to drive the next cartridge into the chamber with other shot casing still half out, of course this leads to a jam. Any ideas on how to fix this......im new to the AR platform but can fix most anything with some guidance..........but guys, I dont need any smart ass should have bought something else or norinco bashing thanks......... I really need help from those that know

mhmm never had problem like this but if it happened to me, id check the gas tube, then clean my chamber, are you shooting 5.56 in .223 chamber? stuff like this needs more details. do you see any pressure signs? can you eject the case manually by pulling the charging handle?

Remember there's a thread here about this. If you use the search option you may still find it. There's a lot of solutions there, at least to try.

Weird Ejection issue, seeking help (AR15) This thread.

Did you lube every thing up?I own a Norinco CQB-M4 14.5 and I had the same problem,I asked some one who owned ar-15 and was told lube every thing up.So I did and I have no problems.I hope this helps.:)

This is somewhat new to me too.

Just to be clear, does the casing come part way out or get left in the chamber?
Is the rim of stuck case damaged?
Once you clear the jam, does it happen again in the same mag (LAR) as you cycle through the rest of the rounds?
What ammo are you using? Did you try other bands/loads and get the same problem?
Can you repeat the failure with manually cycling rounds (or dummy rounds at home)?

From your initial description, I would think it is the extractor like Throttle Monkey suggested. Did you strip down your BCG and bolt and clean them before you went to the range? Could be some grease or cosmoline (or whatever transit preservative they use) causing the extractor to not fully seat on the rim to pull with full force.

If you don't know how to strip down the BCG, look it up on Youtube. Not hard at all.

I had a similar problem with my DPMS, turns out the chamber was screwed and I needed to get it reamed to 223 Wylde. Your Norc should be 5.56 so it should have ample room to let the case go free.

I'll save the Norc bashing to some point after I decide to sell mine, if/when I do. :D

My suggestion would be to lube the crap out of it, get it nice and juicy and try it again. AR's like to be wet when you run them, kinda like another temperamental species you may know.:D

If that doesn't work then problem shoot some of the issues noted in this thread...

Thanks

A friend of mine picked his up last week, cleaned it and took it to the range. The first few shots were good, then it became jamtastic. Could not shoot 4 rounds without a jam, just like the OP. Took it apart, found a great deal of carbon around the BCG. Cleaned with godzilla, lubed with Breakfree. Put 200 rounds of 55 gr. through it, only stopping to load mags. No stoppages.
