Hello everyone i am looking for dealers of ar style rifles in canada that i am able to buy a 6.5 grendal from. I live in manitoba and did talk to Wolverine supplies, however they could only get me the rifle from sabre defense and quite frankly there is nothing on there site that i like not to mention the almost 3k price tag it would cost with exchange and shipping.

Can anyone point me to another dealer in Canada that might deal in Alexander arms products.

My other option was buying a stag in a .223 and then converting it to a 6.5 grendal but i am not sure of the laws governing buying barrels and upper recievers from the U.S

Again any and all help would be appreciated. I still am waiting to get me restricted license anyways but am taking care of that before the end of may.

I was/am hoping to have this rifle for the up coming deer season so im kinda on a time limit with what im hearing about the possible 20-25 week waits for some of thses rifles.

Cheers

You should be able to source all the parts you need to build the 6.5 Grendel upper here in Canada. The only thing that might be a little tricky is the barrel. I'm sure one of the dealers here on CGN could probably scrounge one up for you. Might take a few weeks to wade through the paperwork and cost you more than you'd prefer to pay, but doable. However, if you don't already reload, you're going to need to get set-up for handloading, as the ammo is next to impossible to source in Canada. I'm sure brass is equally scarce these days.

You're going to have to "wait" a lot longer than 20-25 weeks to, "...have this rifle for the up coming deer season," though, as the AR-15 and all variants are restricted by name. You cannot use/discharge such rifles anywhere but at an approved firing range/gun club. No deer hunting, no varmint hunting & no plinking in the gravel pit.

Unless there is some other overriding reason for building/buying a 6.5, you're better off sticking with a standard 5.56mm/.223 offering in the AR platform.

If you're looking for a "black rifle" that you can hunt with (check your provincial hunting regs for minimum calibers!) you have other options that are non-restricted such as the SIG/Swiss Arms Classic Green/Black Special/Blue Star, etc... Rob Arms XCR, Armalite AR-180B & HK SLR-8, to name a few in .223. Moving up in caliber, there is the CZ-858 and SKS that fire the 7.62X39mm. They are legal for most big game, but distances should be kept under 100M if possible.

Are you going to take your lawyer with you on your Deer hunt with an AR ? .. If so get him/her to hold your bail money.

Why dont you look at a Robinson XCR in 6.8 or .308 ... should be avail by fall/late summer . Non Restricted .. best part you wont be arrested ...!!:dancingbanana:

well tha completely blows. guess i stuck using boring bolt action rifle for hunting, which i am completely sick of using and bored as hell with. might just buy a stag ar and mod it to a 6.5 grendal and use it at the range and hope the rumors of the ar becoming unrestricted are true.

big boo for canadian gun laws

ive done a couple of grendel conversions if you need any advice or help
first was a cz858 and then an ar180b which im still finishing both are shootable though
