NEED HELP - Scope on Cooey 39

I have a Cooey 39 that shoots great, but I'd like to add a scope to it. Does anyone have any experience doing this? I'd like to know what rings I should use, how to mount if it's not straight forward and suggestions for a decent scope (I'm used to Vortex, but interested to know about cheaper options).

There are some 2 piece side mounts made by Weaver. It will need to be drilled and tapped as well, with the stock most likely inletted.
Unless you’re able to do the work yourself, it’s cost prohibitive.
 
I wanted to scope one of my Cooeys, But the cost was high to do so. I just found one someone that already did.

There's also the old one piece mounts. Little harder to come by.
But like mentioned if you don't have the taped holes already...it's gonna cost ya.

I've put some on there is a Rugar 10/22 mount weaver rail that has multiple holes that can work you need to cut a notch for feeding it didn't look too good but did work. like everyone says drilling and tapping for a scope is going to cost and the receivers are not that aligned to the barrels exactly not that the barrel are exactly the straightest on the Cooey 39 so you cant just align to the receiver you need to set them to a bore sight. It's going to cost you more than the rifle to do it.
 
I'd drill the top verses them butt fuggly side mounts.
Arf the time the scope sits off to the side of the bawwrill.
Gifts me sinus issues.
 
People have used a couple of different lock-tite products and supposedly had good results. They’ve done it on 22’s that they wanted to scope but because of collectable value, did not want to drill. You could give that a try with a few different mounts. I’v never tried it myself, but it is a relatively inexpensive way to try. Worst that happens is it doesn’t work. If it does work, a heat gun should remove it at a later date, if required.

I have scoped Cooeys in this manner. Brownells sells blank 3/8" dovetail base stock. Cut a piece to length. Drill and countersink holes for the screws, drill and tap the receiver, cut the base away at the receiver port. Looks good, works well.

I know Bubba that did one with a small MiG, and than had me fix the blue, LOL, BTW that thing would shoot and it lived in the barn, so don't really matter.
Not a big job If you have a drill press, proper drill bits and a tap.
