Need help setting up holster

Facts

Sorry, I have a universal CR speed holster, and a Double Alpha comp. belt. How do you get the belt thru the holster loops it is very narrow. I know it sounds obvious- shove it through, but I don't want to wreck the belt or holster, just trying to be careful and make sure I'm not missing something.

Fair enough and something to consider. "Shove" should be a relative term. If it fits through with a little pressure and you can pull it into place without making the belt that has been through the holster look different from the belt that hasn't been through then I think you're golden. If you force the first inch or two in and then pull it out and there's any signs of obvious marking to the velcro or edges that does not "heal itself" in an hour then the holster will need some trimming around the opening or you need a different holster.

A large number of years at making things work together that don't want to work together has given me a background that has little fear in modifying stuff in ways that almost always do not have bad side effects (I still learn new stuff every day and sometimes the lessons cost :D) so my first reaction would be to look at how the holster fits. Likely it's a really close thing and a little bit of careful material trimming will ease the fit onto the belt and allow a firm but non damaging fit of the holster onto the belt. The key is to study how and where it's jamming up and start with a very light material removal and test. If it's better than remove a hair more until it's a snug but movable with care sort of fit. You don't want the holster to be able to slip on and off like a well worn belt holding up an old pair of jeans. It should be a snug but non damaging slip fit.

Have at it but with care and best of luck with your first match.

if you loosen the two little allan screws at the top of the holster, it will become much easier to "shove" the belt through. i usually leave it loose till i have the holster and the mag pouches placed where i want them, then i tighten them up or get Cathy to do it for me. be careful through as the screws have a small head and it is easy to over torque them and strip them out.

got it

Wow what a tight fit! With a lot of swearing, a big screwdriver and some silicone spray I got the belt thru and set up. Thanks for your help.
