Need Help Sourcing Leather Sling for M24 Rifle

The classic WW1 and WW2 USGI leather rifle sling would be the most appropriate piece.

Keep in mind what war the M14 was most used in. Vietnam. The Americans started the war without a serious sniper rifle doctrine. When you read books by and about Hathcock, you realize how hard it was for them to keep their rifles serviceable in the jungle. Forget getting special slings and dodads hand delivered by couriers with wings on their feet; the troops and Marines only had standard FMJ ball ammo. So, if there was a standard part in the inventory they could order it from supply. But unless their unit was entitled to have 18 model M69 Grapple Grommet Ripplers, they couldn't order them. The supply system isn't in the business of wastefully dispersing its limited numbers of anything - just because someone asked. So, horsetrading for parts became the only way to get anything above and beyond the Table of Equipment limits.
