So I'm looking for advice on gear and ideas for reloading.

I currently will be looking to just reload .40. I've been looking at reloading vids, and some product, and have an idea of what's involved, just not sure what people recommend to start out...

How many times can brass be reused? Any info on equipment/recommendations for handgun loads is appreciated...

I've been shooting a mix of .40 cal 180 grain

Are you shooting in great volumes? If so, you may want to consider a turret type press or progressive press. RCBS is generally regarded as decent quality, although there have been some issues as of late.

Dillon and Hornady are also top picks. For the reloader on a budget, I have never had any trouble with Lee equipment.

But first and foremost is to buy a couple reloading manuals. These will provide a significant amount of good information. Read them over and give us a heads up with any questions that still remain.

Cheers

Any books specifically recommended? I'll be shooting in volume for recreation. I definitely have been leaning towards the multistage presses, which I would be interested in hearing what models people like. MY closest inspection of said units is operational videos on youtube and the like to see how much human input they require...

And how far into reloading do people usually get? Is the main savings in reloading just by purchasing powder, primers, and bullets? or is it more so in the actual molds etc.?

The very first thing you want to buy is a reloading manual. You'll have to get one sooner or later, and sooner is better than later. Read it cover to cover. Yea, some of it will be pretty dry, but you need to know this stuff. After that, you'll have a pretty good idea of what you're after for your particular needs.
