Need help to ID Cooey .22 Link to pictures added

A friend of mine has lost the bolt for his .22. It has no markings on it aside from "Cooey .22 CAL."

it is a single shot, 24" Barrell, very old, very sentimental. I will try to get pictures of it from him asap.

Any idea how to get this thing ID'd? any good source for cooey parts online?

Gee, if it was registered, you would be able to find out what model it was registered as....Assuming of course that the CFC has all the answers..:D Seriously, a photo will work wonders. There are opinions and facts a-plenty on here.

I'll try to get some pictures tomorrow from him.


Anyone else have any ideas? I am guessing Model 39, 75 or 750.

Anyone know if the bolts for these single shots are interchangeable?

With a 24" barrel, I don't think that it is a 75 or 750. The single shot bolts are of the same pattern, but all are fitted at assembly, by filing the locking shoulder at the root of the bolt handle. A bolt from one rifle may or may not fit another rifle properly.

Cooey 22 cal is the model. This is one of the older models from the 1930s. It has a round knob type pistol grip. It likely had either a flat hatch for a bolt knob or a round bolt knob with no rings cut in it. This same style was also tagged eatonia,hiawatha and many other house brand names. Most of the old bolts will interchange with his rifle but fitting it would be the best-----Cowboy
