Need help to identify 223 or 556 ammo

Made by IVI so likely loaded to 5.56 specs. Although it doesn't have Nato markings on it.

Either way it's 'good' ammo.
 
If it's a newer Armalite barrel (since ~2001), you should* be okay running 5.56 through it. No idea on price.

*Armalite says you can run 5.56 and .223 in their barrels interchangeably, although you should check the first few rounds for pressure signs just in case.
 
That is 5.56. And the circle with the cross in the centre of it will tell you that's it loaded to NATO spec. Easy way to tell if it can go through your upper; (as Malice explained- barrels since 2001) and whatever is stamped on your barrel.
If there are no markings on your barrel and the receiver says .223rem then that's what you go by.
Depending on the "origin" or the ammo In Question, $350-450 seems to be close to what I have paid for that kind of stuff.

The only flaw with that is a), it might not be the same brand lower, and b) it wouldn't be wise to assume, that if the lower said 5.56, that the upper would be too,
Although it is agreed that you should always err on the side of .223
 
may want to ask where he got that from, as im not aware of ivi 556 nato ammo being sold to any retail store, stolen goverment assets are not a good thing to post on the internet.
been more then a few people on CGN buster for trying to sell things like ammo, helmets, bayonets ect..
