Thanks for taking the time to look at these photos.
Picked up this rifle as part of a package.
It is stamped on the receiver on the right hand side with DPR over Germany
Stamped on top of receiver with a symbol in a circle with model 1 below it
Proof marks on underside of barrel.
Bore is dark and I have not test fired it.
Action and trigger works smoothly.
I don't have the space for this little gem and I intend to post it on EE.
Thanks for your help.
Bob

DWM (Deutche Werke Munitionsfabriken) Model 1. Should have "D.R.P." on the right side I believe.
Value, based on the condition, is approximately $125.

Why would DWM stamp the S in a circle on it. the Logo for Simson Works there competitor????

Sorry, some information shows it as a Deutsche Werke-Werke Erfurt Model 1 made in Erfurt, Germany between 1919 and 1939. I can't find anything about it relating to Simson.

The Simson logo was different on the pictures I could find. It's more of an 's' in a triangle within a circle.

Link to Simson rifle image showing logo.

And here's a link for Ortgies handguns which were also produced by Deutsch Werke. Scroll down and you'll find a picture of the Deutsch Werke logo. Apparently it was a "highly a stylized cat." Same logo that appears on the .22 rifle in question.
