I took my newly acquired guns out today to try them out. I gave them a very detailed cleaning last night.
The Winchester Model 61 cycles great! At 40 yards, it is off 2.25" to the left and I have never played with open sights to adjust them. I know you use a brass drift and can move the rear sight. I just would like to know which way and how little movement does it take to see a big difference?

The Remington shoots very well for its age! Only thing I had issues with was after about 5-6 shells, it started to Fail to Feed. I noticed it would not flip the next shell up. I just needed to move the gun alittle bit and it would work again. I`m new to the Remington 12C pump and not sure what part of the action I need to deligate my time to resolve this issue. If anyone has a pic of the problem part...that would be great. Thanks,Darcy

i) F.A.R.T. (I still love saying it) Front away, Rear towards (where you want the bullet to go....if it's hitting to the right, move rear sight to the left) There are formulas to determine how much change is required, but it's quite a bit easier to just make minute adjustments. It'll also help you get an idea of "Kentucky windage" for the particular rifle.

ii) Before making any adjustments to the 12C, be certain you're cycling it sharply. If you ease the slide, it won't behave well.

Thanks Camster! Some well informed info!

I tried the Remington 12C sharply. You are correct that it works much better. The issue I have and will be looking for is: The main tube and the inner tube to feed the shells. Not sure if the inner one is buggered, but the outer one seems to have the slot wore out. If I try and run shells through fast and sharp, the inner tube works out of the slot and not applying pressure to the existing shells.
How hard are these to find in Canada?

Keep an eye out on e-bay, as these parts show up from time to time. I picked up a set for my model 12 about a year ago.
I have a hard time with e-bay. Years ago with (FRAUD ALERT) I got done over by a seller and (FRAUD ALERT) never did get my money back.

I had the same problem with a Rossi 62 not too long ago. Remove the inner tube, and with a small round file you can make a new "hook". Just go slow and take your time. It worked just fine on mine. Good luck, and safe shooting, Toni.
