Need help with a bluing tank burner

I made some success today. I built my first propane burner! Works very well in the bench vise. Now I need to get it on some sort of stand so I can see how good of a job I did. More detail to follow!

2 or three of these should bring it up to temp....

Cheap and they work! Getting three on their own circuits as not to blow breakers might be tricky.

Stirring required... hot at the ends, cooler in the middle, although convection will work somewhat... I would also hate bumping the elements with the barrels, etc... heating a bluing tank is best done full length...

I only use it to boil water nothing else. You can see the temp gauge I have experimented lots no stirring required to just run at 212 boiling. For salts or something maybe so but that was not my requirement. The second element was installed at the build just in case it wasn't all heated but that wasn't an issue I only wanted to boil nothing else.

You've inspired me to get rolling on my bluing tank weasel1. It's not quite done but a decent start...

Wasted space! Stop and rethink what you are doing... a square flat bottom tank is what you need... when you place 4 or 5 barreled actions in there, they will all bunch up on one another... You want the pieces free of each other and to be able to move each one... look at the size of Brownell's tanks, duplicate them...

Thanks guntech. This isn't for high production it's a free piece of steel. Just going to do a couple barrels at a time tops. It's more about cost effectiveness than production. If I do a larger run I'll come up with a hanger system so I don't have to worry about them on the bottom.
