Need help with a jamming 1911

Can you see peening on the locking lugs? Many 9-1911 have a very poorly timed bbl and the result causes jamming, also ruining said barrel quickly.

Practically, on the two I have had, only a small part of the chamber "top" would lick the first slide lug during recoil.
The barrels "headspacing" was also way too short, allowing it to slam against the slide, which at that point wanted to move backward during firing, peening it.
In other words the slide might then recoil alone above the barrel and jam on it.

There appears to be slight grooving or rounding of the locking groves on the np29 slide when compared to the np28 the barrel of the np29 also appears to have some rounding on the locking lugs but it’s so minimal it’s almost unnoticeable

take them or send them to a 1911 gunsmith
norinco guns are usually pretty good , but, a gunsmith will make them better
parts are an issue because most importers never bothered to buy them in recent times

Trying to become a gunsmith eventually and I’m flat broke so that’s not an option

Just a thought but John Browning designed the 1911 for use with 230 grain hardball ammunition. No expert but have seen more than a few with feeding problems that worked like a top with hardball.

I shoot 230 round nose out of my 45 and 115 or 124 round nose from my 9s anything becides round nose seems pointless to me for target shooting

The top image slide looks like someone “adjusted” the slide lugs, I would probably not use it.
1911’s are not lego block guns. The barrel and slide need to be hand fitted and timed. I appaud your interest to becoem a gunsmith. Get the books suggested, they are cheaper than pistol slides.

Yeah I was thinking it was just worn out but everything on this gun looks like it was hit with a hammer so it might have been messed with, keeping my eyes out for a cheap gi style 9mm slide, waiting on my books in the mail
