I bought a used Marlin Camp Carbine 45 today, took it home, and dis-assembled and cleaned it following the instructions in the three manuals I found on line. Two of the manuals had better instructions and photos than the Marlin factory manual.
Everything went fine until, after re-assembly, I tried to dry fire it. I found that the trigger won't move. I've dis-assembled and re-assembled it three times. I can manually feed Snap-Caps and eject them with no problem. I just can't get the trigger to move.
The saftey appears to function properly. It moves from "Off" to "On" and vice versa but there is no movement of the trigger. I've examined the interior of the lower part of the receiver and nothing seems out of place. The hammer moves freely and so does the main spring. The trigger just will not move.
Any suggestions. The gun store is closed tomorrow, so I have until Monday to try to fix it. If I can't, I guess I'll just return it. The store owner is reputable and I've dealt with him for years so that won't be a problem.
I would rather get the gun working because it's a nice little rifle.
Thanks for any help.
John
