I've recently inherited an Ithaca XL300 semi automatic shotgun and I need to clean it, but I don't have the slightest idea how to take it down. Any ideas or photos would be appreciated!
Ok,apart is easy...Unscrew magtube cap and pull out front stock (the wood) along the barrel. Then pull the barrel out of the reciver, all easy, all possible without using any force.
You got her apart then.
And you'll never get her back together by just reversing the steps. So here is the trick for XL300 / 900:
Get your thumb or any other finger behind the bolt (NOT the handle-won't have enough travel!!) and push it in shooting direction, then slide the barrel back in and let go. Wood back on,cap on,done!
Might be,but hence there are no rubber seals, rather a sort of piston rings instead, the Ithaka/SKB XL-series go long time without cleaning and outlast a rem 1100 on this, let alone the late win semis.
