So I just picked up a problematic cooey 600 for a good price. First thing I noticed was one of the extractor claws had been broken off, so I replaced the extractor. Went to the range to try it out. First round out of tube does not engage the extractor, and comes flying out of the action. Then about 7/10 round will properly come into battery, with always the last round always not engaging the extractors and promptly exiting the action.

I have read about the tension bolt on the mag tube being too tight/too loose, but even all the way in my bolt does not contact the mag tube. Is it supposed to contact? Theres probably 1-2mm gap between.

If there's anyone that can help me...it would be greatly appreciated. This is my first cooey repeater, but means a lot as I learned to shoot on a model 600 when I was young.

Hey there, one thing to make sure is the lugs on the mag tube are in the proper slots in the bottom of the bolt. I got a few model 60s and 600s and all the take down bolt will contact the tube if its not set right. I always just make sure it drags juuuust a bit on the bolt as to hold it up high enough.
