Need Help With Information On A Walther P1

Hi everyone, I was hoping you could help me on gathering some information on an old Walther P1. I am trying to determine its age and value. This gun was my grandfathers and he had it for many years. I am not interested in pistols at all and am considering selling it. In is in clean, in great condition and the rifling looks good. Serial is 345### and also has 11/71.

without pics its hard to say but 11/71 tells us that it was produced in 1971

Definitely your P1 was manufactured in November 1971. The problem is that without pics it is very difficult to assess its quality. Throughout the years the P1's were gradually upgraded. Does your P1 have a steel hex bolt reinforcement in the aluminum frame? Does it have a reinforced slide, hammer etc? Is it a Bundeswehr issue or a former police pistol? We need pics!
To give you some idea I have a P1 with all the upgrades, a Bundeswehr pistol, unissued, all matching for which I paid about $450 a few years ago.
