I just started putting this in my classic compact 243, and the action will not ####. I have run the adjustment screws full travel both ways and I am still not getting sear engagement. Any suggestions?

Don't know about the Jewell but some makes come with a small pin in place that keeps the sear depressed prior to installation to prevent loss of the spring. It neds to be removed to allow the sear to rise and engage the cocking piece. Any chance this is your problem?

I found I needed to remove a little bit of metal from the hole in the action, as it wasn't letting the cocking piece come up far enough to lock the sear lever. It only needed a light stroke with a file to fix. Now I just have to remove a bunch of metal from the trigger guard so that will fit. Fun Fun Fun. These don't drop in nearly as easily as in a 700 or an AR. Thanks for the reply though , stocker.
