Hi folks,

I just noticed that my new S&W M&P 9mm front sight is towards the left somewhat when you look down on top of the gun/barrel. Is this normal? Can it be adjusted? Thanks for the help in advance.

Hey there.
Are you saying it is justified or drifted left. If that's the case using a brass drift pinch you can knock it over a hair. Be sure to be very carful to only do it at the base of the sight. Alternatively a front sight pusher would be the best option. The front sight on some M&Ps were a tad loose. This may be your issue.

Another note. If you are not comfortable with this don't do it. The rear sight is a lot more forgiving.

Where does it shoot? - don't adjust anything until you know where the gun is shooting. Is the gun new, or previously enjoyed - if the latter, it's very possible the previous owner moved the sights to make up for the fact that he/she was an incompetent shooter.

New gun.

I noticed when shooting it, the shots are to the right, which makes sense with the front sight being to the left?

Mine was the same on my Pro Series. I just drifted it back to the center using a 3/16" x 4" long piece of steel square key stock. I just taped the end with electrical tape and it left no marks on the slide or front sight. Really easy to do.
