Something a little more genteel for the office.
Fits trouser cut pockets nicely and the way the blade is set up, the quick release faces toward the pocket seam so no metal bump grinding into my phone.
The tension lever clip nestles it nicely along the pocket seam as well.

I’ve owned this one for about 10 yrs. easy to clean and super light. It was like $85 from warrior and wonders, has a very nice belt clip so when in a pocket/vest cant tell its a knife.

Keyshawn Blur with serrated and glass breaker. Assisted opening. You can open and close easily with one hand while the other hand is busy. I’m probably on my 5th or 6 th. Only broke one tip, my mistake. The others just lost from all the use and in an out of my pocket while working and rigging in every type of condition.

I carry Chinese D2 steel knives to beat on at work(contracting), or lower end Spyderco's like a VG10 Delica. But I carry higher end Spyderco's and ZT's after work. You would probably enjoy the ZT 0460 or 0462 if you have larger hands. Very slicey, slim Persian profile so you can get in tight places to do fine work, such as prying a stuck .22LR from your dirty 10/22 chamber. Very light, small in pocket. ZT and Kershaw are both produced by Kai who also owns Shun kitchen knives, Kershaw sharing many designs but with lower end materials.

www.warriorsandwonders.com is the Canadian store I usually buy from. No affiliation.

I have more than a couple knives (like most of us probably do) and I think probably the most handy of all of them is probably my Spyder Co Delica Warncliffe. It's reasonably compact, fantastic for opening boxes, great for slicing, etc.

Two of my go- to EDC in town are probably too heavy ( an Elmax ZT 0562 which can be useful anywhere) and a Spyderco Military. If they are too heavy I'd suggest a Chris Reeve Sebenza large or small. If it were me and I didn't want a custom folder I'd try a Chris Reeve Large Sebenza 21 Rainbow damascus with natural micarta canvas in handle. It's a little over a thousand bucks available on Warriors and Wonders. He's a South African now American knifemaker who makes beautiful production folders. Roger Hatt in Mabel Lake, B.C. makes very cool high quality custom folders too.

New Para 3 Lightweight would be my choice, the Benchmade Bugout is a pretty nice knife as well. Depends on if you like thumbstuds or the Spydiehole.

I have both and am a bit of a knife addict.

Para 3 lightweight would be my choice if I only had 1 knife. Spyderco wire clip in the BEST!

Can't wait for the sprint runs!

Bugout is nice but somehow it doesn't give me the "fizz"

Small knife (legal on planes in Canada) would be the Spryderco Drangonfly in ZDP-189.

Large knife - Para2

Fancy knife - Benchmade 940 in Carbon Fiber - SV90 (very tough to sharpen) - Benchmade will send you a free deep carry clip.

Cheap (but good) knife - Ontario RAT 1/2 in D2 steel.

Gerber Fastball if you like flippers (made in USA - Gerber is coming back!).

CRKT M16-14LE

My EDC since 2001 when I turned 18. Carried it with me overseas, on my travels, and on duty locally. Never used it hard like my other knives, but it has been used to extricate a person from a veh when I was off-duty and has been used to make improvised bandages.

I will be carrying it until the day my first born is here. It will then be kept in my safe in a box with a letter written to them on their birth date and I'll give them the box with the knife and letter when they turn 18.

My replacement:

I really like the CRKT M16-14's with the tanto blade. (I have the smaller version of it as well which is worn out way more too...also tanto blade. Extremely durable tip, haven't had a chipped blade yet, and the secondary tip has been very useful as a working knife). Highly recommend the CRKT M16. 19 years and counting with it and has never failed me (and the other one that I do have which I use more has never snapped - edge has been reground numerous times but still cuts).

I had a thing for the Gerber Harsey Air Ranger for a few years...mostly til i lost the 5th or 6th one....and they were long discontinued....looks like they're available again.

For the last several (10, 15+??) years CKRT M16-13Z

Tried the larger version and the smaller version, one's too big for EDC and the other is too small...the M16 is "just right" like Goldy Locks and some bears...

Somewhere in my junque I have an Al Mar folder that was really nice...too nice for EDC though.

.

I have a very speical knife that lives in a box in my daughters bed room. It will be hers on her 18th birthday. It is the pocket knife I used to cut her umbilical cord when she was born.
