Hi guys,

I took apart my Norc M14s and cleaned it. Putting it back together I was wondering if there's a way to correctly place the cylinder/piston group in relation to the op-rod shaft? I mean there's treads on the barrel that allow the front band lock to be adjusted. Should the piston be in direct contact with the op-rod? should it be a lil space between the 2?

thanks for your help

JP

I 'm probably wrong here but I believe the space between the piston and oprod (dwell) is supposed be 10 thou, but M14Doc will be able to tell you exactly.

without considering the need for shimming... just bottom out your gas cylinder and front band on the barrel, then tighten gas lock as required. I'm pretty sure the op rod will generally not come in contact with the cylinder, and the piston will protrude slightly and rest against the op rod.
