Need Help with New Timer

I bought a CED7000 shot timer. The instruction booklet seems to assume the owner already has some familiarity with using a timer. I have no such experience.

For starters, I would like for it to give me a random start beep and then time my shots. How do i program that?

First you have to hit review. then hit delay and thumb up and down to select random and Bob's your uncle.

I have the book in the paper version, but found it confusing. It talks about PAR times, but I do not know what a PAR time is, for example

A par time will give you a start signal as well as a stop signal at whatever 'par time' you set.
