I'm looking for some additional mags for a Norinco NP28 (1911 double-stack 9mm).

I can't find any original Norinco mags (unsurprisingly) but I've heard the Remington 1911-A2 mags work, as well as some Dan Wessons.

I'm curious if anyone has experience using alternative mags in their NP28 (or if they know who sells 9mm 1911 double-stack mags pinned to 10rnds lol)

Thanks in advance!

I’m in the same boat, I’ve seen a posts on here about modifying Beretta 92fs mags to fit and I’ve got a bersa thunder pro mag I’m going to try and fit to it, if I can get it to function I’ll let you know

So I got it to mostly work, the bersa thunder pro 9mm mag is fairly similar
Two points on the mag need to be cut away, the section Infront of where the slide release contacts and a mag notch needs to be added I tried to notch the mag release hole so the feed lips were around the same height as the factory feed lips and it works… surprisingly, it won’t lock back on an empty mag but I think I can fix that by raising the follower higher with jb weld

I’ll let you know if this works and locks back on an empty mag when I go to the range in a few days hopefully it works I’ll also in the future be getting some beretta 92fs mags to try, I’ve seen a post from a long time ago that explains how to mod them to work, but as this mag sits currently it cycles fine

Whoa! Lol. That's incredible. I was thinking things were looking pretty bleak....guess I was wrong!

How available are the Bersa mags?? If they cycle that well I'll start tracking some down.

Thanks again for all the info. This is great.

So I got a chance to take it to the range and surprise surprise I got malfunctions, but, but, I think it’s my fault, the mag functions perfectly if I hold the bottom of the mag up into the gun, if I don’t bullets Hangup on the feed ramp so I think the issue is I didn’t cut the new mag catch hole in the right spot but I think if you insert the mag till it bottoms out on the bottom of the grip frame and cut your new mag catch hole there it should function properly, it will probably take a couple mags to get it down pat but it is what it is, the first picture is a factory mag, the second is how mine sits with the hole I cut and the third is how I had to hold it to get it to function properly, hopefully my trial and error helps you out
