I just acquired a rifle today from a customer ( best tip I ever made) and I have no idea what it is. It looks very similar to a Remington 24, but...
It has no markings on it other than 2 numbers visible on the front of the receiver when the barrel is removed.
The forend wood is very slim.
The loading port is on the top of the stock, just ahead of the comb, unlike the model 24 which has the port on the side of the stock.
The previous owner said his father thought it came from Germany. His dad acquired it in the late '30's or early 40's. Could it be a Knockoff of a Remington 24?
I will try to post some pics tomorrow when the wife gets home- she's the teckie in our house.
Thanks for the help!
