Need help with ruger sr1911

I love my SR1911. The factory grips are damn good looking. They fit my hand well and I love the look of a clean original pistol. But that's just me. I think the 10 rounders would be fun to have like one or two but they look pretty goofy. A nice hand full of 7 or 8 rounders will do just as well. I got ruger mags from prophet river and they are nice. And no worries about customs and Itar.

OP; as you're talking about grips, I would also recommend a checkered front strap {Brownells?}. It installs under both grip panels and wraps around the front {and made of stainless}. I've installed one on my SR1911 and it gives a very positive grip, and an improvement well worth the small investment IMHO. "Damn! Pistols got velcro grips!" exclaimed a friend shooting it with bear hands {no gloves}.

10 rd mags just don't look right in a 1911 in my opinion...I stick with the traditional 7 rounders and all of my targets are just as dead...

I've got a few ACT mags and they work great for me. Haven't used CMC or 47D, maybe they are really awesome. As for grips, never tried the VZ but I've got a set of Pach signature on one of my pistols and they are very good.

I havesome vz grips mine, along with a full length guide rod, mag well extension, 14 recoil spring and some other toys. Might give you some ideas.

As others have said about the factory grips....I like them as well. No itch here to change them. To each their own. As for magazines, don't know anything about Wilson products but if you settle for some nice 8 round mags, SFRC sells ACT-MAG (8 round) for 21.99....currently sold out but I bought 2 for my SR1911 and they work well. Maybe look into those if a brand name (and 10 rounds capacity) isn't a big deal to you.

Wolverine has ACT mags for $17.99 in stock.
