Hi There
I would like some input or ideas on a short quote to ingrave on the floorplate of a rifle I am making for my first grandson.
He will be the 4th generation of hunters(sportsman) in my family.
His name and year born will be in a small circle near the bottom of the plate.
The rifle is a model 70 Winchester in 270 Winchester.Scope is a Swarovski Z3 3x9x36.(not that it matters)
I would like the quote to be very short and about Hunting,Ethics,Love of the outdoors etc.
There will be a bugling Elk head in the middle.
The lettering on the rifle and ingraving will be gold inlay.
Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks Reb

I don't know if it helps, or is an idea at all, but when I read that, the first thing I thought of was: Wow, it's like you're preparing your grandson, to be the next generation of guardian of our culture/this way of life.

Sort of a wilderness knights Templar. And judging by the latest polls, he's gonna have one hell of a fight on his hands

Hmmm...I don't really know any quotes, or at least any short ones. You could keep it simple with something like "Aim true, shoot straight, and eat wild" I'm not great with the sentimental stuff though haha.

My Dinner is Still in the Woods.

Or Give a kid a burger, feed him for a day. Teach a kid to hunt, feed him for a lifetime.

Or One shot. One Kill. Time to fire up the Grill.

how short?

I think I have something.
My Father and my Grandson were born 100 yrs apart so that's 100 yrs of hunters, outdoorsman in are family 4 generations in Alberta.
So it will be Family Tradition 100 yrs in a circle family on top (half moon) tradition on the bottom (half moon) 100 yrs in the middle (straight line)
Thanks Again Reb
