This has nothing to do with the beautiful rifle that Slim-Jim has shared with us, but in reference to Col. Patterson; the rifle depicted in the movie (but not described in Col. Patterson's book), had a magazine cut-off, which Slim -Jim's rifle does not.

This is a VERY nice commercial sporting rifle, made up without the bridge charger-guide which went onto Army rifles starting in 1907. Sporters were made like this.

This rifle has Enfield-type rifling (Look at the muzzle photo: 5 grooves, nice and deep). The barrel will not wear out in your lifetime if you look after it just a bit.

Only one I've seen this nice in quite a while is the Sparkbrook workover I got last Spring, and it has definitely seen military service. Yours has not; it is an original commercial sporting rifle.

Definitely worth serious dollars, but who really cares, anyway? It's MUCH too nice to sell!

Enjoy your toy! It's a fine one!

Today I went to the range to bring her back to life....heres the grouping at 100 yards....and just be advise that I'm only shooting since this summer.... That was awesome to shoot that GREAT rifle!

hey thanks for the answers guys! I'll try to post other pictures today. That gun cames from an old man my grandma was taking care of, than when he passed away she take this rifle from his collection ( imagine the rest... :D ) and then give it to my brother. I think it was 10 years ago. Than because Im the only one to have my licences and a year to harass him to sell me that rifle, he just tell me this week '' Take good care of it bro'' than gave it to me. :D I was planning to get it to the range this week to bring it to live again, should I or should I keep it as a collection item?

It was nice of the old gent to give that to your grandma, she must have taken good care of him. Too bad she didn't ask him for the story behind it.
