Need help with VZ58 optic mount design.

We're in the final stages of design/engineering on an optics mount and I'm wondering if some of you more experianced CGNers can help me with a question.

I would like the mount to be close to right on @ 100m so I'm wondering if the optic should sit at a slight angle IIRC 20moa is standard for .223/5.56. Does anyone know what the sweet spot would be for 7.62x39?
 
I just finished casting mine. It will be mounted to the pistol grip so that nothing is perment. It will be in flat black with high tempeture paint and yes you will be able to remove the slide to have acces to cleaning the chamber with out removing the mount. Plus this mount will be a weaver base so mounting any type of optic will be easy. Also it will be a little high so that I can see my original iron sights for the close shots. I will post pics of this creation next weekend when I am done sanding & painting
 
Be careful if the rail sits above the dust cover then magnified optics are pretty much a waste cause they will be too close to the eye. The mount needs to put the optic over the bolt carrier to be comfortable, especially with the factory stock. Believe me I've tried a lot of locations and stocks.

Just another thought but most PGs will have some play especially under recoil, using the PG to secure your optic may not be the best idea.

Are you casting in aluminum or iron?

This is a good question. I'm not really too sure how you would tell...
